From London to San Francisco

May 7, 2026by Emily Weston

Last weekend we packed up a small but mighty selection of watches and made our way from London to San Francisco for the Wind Up Watch Fair.

A highlight in the calendar for collectors, enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys seeing watches up close and in good company!

The journey consisted of jet lag, snacks, and a suitcase that was, optimistically, not quite big enough. But it was all worth it.

Alongside our usual collection, we brought something even more unique: A special edition of Tails of London, reimagined by our very own, extremely talented watch assembly technician and illustrator, Catarina!

This time, it became Tails of San Francisco, a playful love letter to the city of colour, character and curious viewpoints.

The watch features our mascot Stanley sitting atop a sunlit balcony, taking in a patchwork of bright townhouses, colours dancing together in harmony, while the Golden Gate Bridge stretches across the horizon in the distance.

It’s a moment of calm… or at least it would be, if Stanley weren’t so easily distracted.

Because gliding through the skyline is a mischievous golden bird, circling round and round, teasing Stanley as it goes!

Tails of San Francisco was produced in a run of just 50 pieces, and spoiler: they didn’t last long.

In fact they didn’t last at all. All 50 sold out on the first day! Which was both impressive and mildly alarming (we’d grown quite attached to them).

Nevertheless, we’re extremely glad you loved the design as much as we do!

Your response to Mr Jones Watches was overwhelming in the best possible way. A queue formed at our stand and we spent the weekend meeting people who knew the brand, owned the watches and were kind enough to stop by and say hello.

We also managed to sell nearly everything we brought with us, which made the return journey home significantly lighter!

It’s always a surreal experience seeing something that started as an idea on a desk in London end up on wrists across the world.

Events like the Wind Up Watch Fair are a rare opportunity to step away from the workshop and connect directly with the people who wear, and appreciate, what we make.

Seeing that enthusiasm in person, and hearing how our watches are experienced day-to-day is something we don’t take for granted.

So, thank you San Francisco, you were very good to us.

You can also catch us at the Chicago and New York Wind Up Watch Fairs in July and October, both with their own special edition watch. We’ll see you there!
