A bright and cheerful limited edition watch, to remind you to prioritise what (or who) matters most to you.

Designed by David Newton, this playful watch uses a Sun and a Moon to indicate the time. Each hour, when the two hands align, there is a moment when they embrace.

To create the design, a mix of printing and gilding was used; the glasses on the Sun are gilded in rose gold while the body of the moon is rendered in Caplain gold (a combination of palladium and gold).

How to read the time

The Sun acts as the hour hand and the Moon as the minutes.

On each there’s an indicator that you look at to read the time: on the Sun there is one longer ray and the very tip of the crescent Moon points to the minutes.

Limited edition

This watch is available exclusively from Mr Jones Watches website and shop for 12 hours (until 8pm GMT) in a numbered limited edition.

When you purchase, you will be assigned an edition number and this will be engraved on your watch case back.

David Newton describes his experience of designing the ecLIPSe watch:

"The Sun and Moon are my favourite icons to play around with. I love the notion of the two in the sky at separate times - yet here they are united and telling the time!

I like the idea of them as parent-like figures always watching over us.

My illustration and printmaking practice is heavily led by hand-making and not creating on a computer.

All the artwork for the eclipse design was hand cut from physical sheets of card. I often hand gild elements in gold or silver to add a feeling of animation. I was thrilled that MJW could take this aspect of my practice and include it in the watch.

I'm not the best time keeper, i’m often late to meet a loved one... I know that the romance of the sun and moon kissing is a reminder to me as to why (and who!) I need to get a move on for."

A majority of orders are now dispatched from our EU site, meaning there should be no additional fees to pay upon import.

For any orders shipped from the UK, duties and taxes will be prepaid by us. Please do get in touch if you have any issues with the import process.

This means, the price you pay when you checkout is the full price and you will not have to pay any extra charges.

These delivery times are a guide based on the UPS terms of service, products may, in some unusual cases take longer to arrive. If this happens, please get in touch.

Return your watch for an exchange

We are happy to exchange unworn watches.

Fastening the watch will cause damage to the leather. If this is the case, we charge for the watch strap (or we can put the worn strap on the exchanged watch for free).

Please email us directly if you think your watch is faulty, our team will be happy to arrange a repair or replacement for you.

Return your watch for a refund

If you change your mind, you have 30 days to return your watch for a refund.

If you purchased your watch in-store, we can offer an exchange or store credit only. This is because you’ve seen the watch in person and had the opportunity to try it on. Please let us know if you’re purchasing as a gift.

We recommend using a standard tracked postal service (we advise against couriers as these tend to be very expensive).

• Ensure the watch is securely wrapped in the original packaging or bubble wrap/void fill if you don’t have this.

• Please include a note with your name and email address, so we know from whom the watch has been sent.

Each colour you see in the design was mixed by hand, before being airbrushed and printed layer by layer and assembled by our dedicated workshop team here in London.
