This gruesome design was created for us by Mariana Calderón to celebrate the macabre world of the horror comic.

The watch depicts a possessed pizza with a range of revolting toppings: eyeballs, intestines and human limbs combined with traditional cheese and tomato to make a unique delicacy!

How to read the time:

• To find the hour, check the position of the severed finger
• To find the minutes, check the position of the fly

Mariana explains her inspiration for the design:

“I feel that being playful about something as scary as death has always been part of my life. Humour is a way of dealing with the fragility of our own bodies.

Through bright colours, a cartoon style and repetition, things as gory as eyeballs and severed fingers can become humorous.

These light-hearted depictions are ingrained in the Mexican visual culture, which celebrates death as an ever-present, not as something ominous but rather as a mundane fact.

I see The Zombie Pizza as a tribute to the extravagant eighties body horror films, in tune with the Mexican way of transforming the mysteries of death into a colourful joke.”

The Zombie Pizza was made by us here in London, each layer of the design was printed individually, before being hand-assembled by our talented small team.
